This was a four part series that I put together into one lesson. That is why it is so long.
Jesus came here from heaven in order to show us the way back to God.
11Chron. 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place. 16 For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
Is. 26:1 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks. 2 Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in. 3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. 4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD Jehovah is everlasting strength:
This scripture is talking about his protection and guidance he gave the Israelites after they came out of Egypt.
Ex: 13:21 And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: 22 He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
The Lord is not going to let us go astray if we walk with him. He will protect us and guide us all the way, just like he did the Israelites. But we must follow his example. God told us the way to go in the garden of Eden, but we chose to go our own way, and look where that brought us to today. The devil wants us to follow him instead of God, so he can make us go astray, away from God. But God has so much love for us that he refused to give up on us, even after we directly disobeyed his orders in the garden. God knew we would mess up. So he made a provision for us from the very beginning.
This next verse is talking about the beast.
Rev. 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
God knew that he was going to have to make a sacrifice for our sins, from the very foundation of the world, and that sacrifice would be his Son, Jesus Christ. God sent Jesus, as his word to show us how our names might be written in that book of life, but as you can see from the prior scripture, some still choose to worship the devil.
You see we do have a choice, even now, to follow his word, or to be led astray by the same liar that cost us to be thrown out of the garden of Eden. He is still trying to steal God’s creation, and we all have been helping him do it, by listening to his lies. So the Word of God was sent here in the flesh of Jesus Christ, to show us the right way. Because man threw away God’s word in the garden, Jesus had to come as the word to reconcile us back to God.
Heb. 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the majesty on high; 4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. 5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, This day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? 6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels Spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. 8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of thy kingdom. 9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; Therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above they fellows.
Verse 13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? 14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
There is a reason that Jesus sits on the right hand of God. In order to find out what that reason is, we will need to do a word search of the words, right hand. This search is going to tell us many things about this topic, and so it will be quite a long study
This will not be a complete search, because we are looking for mainly, why Jesus sits on the right hand of God, and so we will only need to use the scriptures that might, in some way, pertain to that topic.
I would like for you, as we go thru these scriptures, to write down things you pick up along the way. There are different things that will jump out of the scriptures to different people. So, if, when we are finished with this topic, if you have noticed things that were not covered, and you would like to make me aware of them, please feel free to write to me.
You see, we are all parts of the body of Christ. We don’t all have the same function. Each member of Christ’s body will see things somewhat different. We need each other, because when we work together, we help each other learn, just like it says in:
Eph. 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
The enemy has spent the last two thousand years dividing us in order to keep us away from each other, because he knows that if we come together in that one mind and one spirit like they did as it says in Acts, he knows he is finished. When you put more and more members of the body together, each member brings more and more power together, that is why there are so many different doctrines, and so many different bibles.
All these things divide us. If we really love each other like we are supposed to we will want to help each other come to the full truth of the Gospel of Christ. We need each other. A knee can’t operate if it is not attached to a leg, neither can any other part. If what we believe is not lining up with the Gospel, then we need to change what we believe. We should all have the same goal, and that is to save souls.
Now we will take a look at the verses with the right hand in them.
Ex. 15:6 Thy right hand, O LORD is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.
Deut. 17:18 And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites: 19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statures, to do them:
Deut. 33:1 And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death. 2 And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them. 3 Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet: every one shall receive of thy words.
Ps. 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Ps. 20:5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfill all thy petitions. 6 Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
Ps 21:8 Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee. 9 Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them. 10 Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men. 11 For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform. 12 Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.
Ps. 44:1 We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old. 2 How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out. 3 For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.
Ps. 45:1 My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer. 2 Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever. 3 Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty. 4 And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things. 5 Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king’s enemies; whereby the people fall under thee. 6 Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the scepter of thy kingdom is a right scepter. 7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. 8 All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad. 9 Kings daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.

Ps. 80:15 And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself. 16 It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance. 17 Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.
Ps. 89:13 Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand. 14 Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.
Verse 24 But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted. 25 I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers. 26 He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation. 27 Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth. 28 My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him. 29 His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
Ps. 98:1 O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvelous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.
Ps. 110:1 The LORD said unto my Lord, sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. 2 The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. 3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth. 4 The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. 5 The Lord at thy right hand shall stride through kings in the day of his wrath. 6 He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries. 7 He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.
Ps 118:14 The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation. 15 the voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly. 16 The right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.

Is. 45:1 Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut; 2 I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:
Is. 48:12 Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last. 13 Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.

Lam. 2:3 He hath cut off in his fierce anger all the horn of Israel: he hath drawn back his right hand from before the enemy, and he burned against Jacob like a flaming fire, which devoureth round about. 4 He hath bent his bow like an enemy: he stood with his right hand as an adversary, and slew all that were pleasant to the eye in the tabernacle of the daughter of Zion: he poured out his fury like fire.
Ez. 47:1 After ward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar. 2 Then brought he me out of the way of the gate northward, and led me about the way without unto the utter gate by the way that looketh eastward; and, behold, there ran out waters on the right side.

Heb. 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; 2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man. 3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
Heb. 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. 14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

1Peter 3:18 for Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: 19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; 20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, where-in few, that is eight souls were saved by water. 21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: 22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
Rev. 1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, 11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, what thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. 12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; 13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. 14 His head and his hairs were white as wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; 15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace: and his voice as the sound of many waters.
16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. 17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last; 18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore. Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. 19 Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter: 20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.
Rev. 2:1 Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;
Rev. 5:1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. Verse 7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.
Rev. 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that is the last scripture we have of these, that I wanted to cover.
Next we will get into the patterns God revealed to me as I went through these verses. I hope you have been taking notes as we went along, because there are many things that God can and does reveal through these kinds of studies. I hope you have seen a few. If you have, please let me know.
We have gone over many of the scriptures in the bible that contain the words, right hand, in order to get a clearer picture of what God has in mind when he uses the words right hand in the scriptures. Since God is a spirit, his ways are not like our ways as it tells us in Is. 55:9. God looks at things from his viewpoint, not ours. We see things from fleshly eyes.
As we went through the scriptures, I hope that you noticed some things along the way that stood out to you. As I told you when we first started this study, each of us will see things from a little different viewpoint, as we look at the scriptures, because each one of us have somewhat different positions in the body of Christ. Just because a person is operating as a leg instead of a foot, for example, each one is still vital to the overall working of the body as a whole unit. If your body had a leg but not a foot, that leg would not operate the same way as it would if the foot was there and functioning. The same example, in the reverse, would have a similar result. Of course the foot without the leg would not be able to function at all. We are each one of us members of the total body of Christ, and every member is dependant on the other members to function correctly, and efficiently.
Satan is counting on us continuing the division that he has created in the body of Christ. When we come together against him, he knows he is finished. I need your input. We all need each other. That is why I told you from the beginning of this series, that if you noticed things differently from the way that I have shown you here, or if you are able to add something to the picture I have presented, I would appreciate your input. Please write to me. If you don’t see things the same way I do, that is not necessarily a problem. God may have fine turned you in a different area than this. I will show you some of the things that I picked up on as I went through these scriptures. Remember, we are focusing on why Jesus sits on the right hand of the majesty on high.
If we take a look at the first scripture of Heb. 1:1-14, we are going to see a variety of Christ’s functions. We already know that Jesus is the Word of God from other lessons, and also that he is God’s Son. In this scripture we see that God spoke unto us by his Son. We see that he hath appointed him heir of all things, and that God, by Jesus also made the worlds. We see that Jesus is the brightness of his glory, the express image of his person, and that he upholds all things by the word of his power. We see that Jesus purged our sins by himself, and then sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.
We see that God made him better than the angels, and that Jesus, by inheritance, obtained a more excellent name than they. God tells us that Jesus is his son, and that he hath begotten him. God brought in Jesus, the first begotten into the world, and said, let all the angels of God worship him. God told Jesus, Thy throne O God is for ever and ever. God informs us that Jesus loved righteousness, and hated iniquity, and therefore anointed him with the oil of gladness above his fellows. God shows that Jesus laid the foundation of the earth, and that the heavens are the works of his hands. He tells us that those that perish shall be folded up, as a vesture, and be changed, but that Jesus is the same and his years shall not fail. God uses the example, by saying, to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
In Ex. 15:6 we are shown that the right hand of the LORD is become glorious in power, and that his right hand has dashed in pieces the enemy. My question for you right now, is, could the right hand have done these things because Jesus is sitting on it? Just keep that in mind as we continue.
Deut. 33:2 Here, from the LORD’s right hand went a fiery law for them. Moses gave them the law which was the covenant given after they came out of Egypt.
Jesus came as the mediator of a better covenant, as it says in Heb. 8:6 which was established upon better promises. And Heb. 8:10 says, For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts:
In Acts 1:4 we see more about the promise. And being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father. This promise Jesus was talking about, was the pouring down of his spirit, which they received on Pentecost with the tongues of fire that sat upon each of them, making them witnesses for him. That was the fiery law that went forth of the LORD’s right hand the second time.
Now we will back up to Deu. 33:3 which says that all his saints are in thy hand. By Jesus pouring down his spirit as the tongues of fire, his saints became part of him and he became part of them.
Since Jesus sits on the right hand, if we are in him, that puts us also in the right hand, as it says in: John 15:7 If ye abide in me and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
As we go through the scriptures on the right hand, I will be picking up on some other scriptures that I have noticed since this study began that are near some of the right hand scriptures we started with. This will, hopefully give you a clearer picture, as we go through them.
In Deut. 33:4 it says Moses commanded us a law, even the inheritance of the congregation of Jacob.
The law was their inheritance, just like we receive an inheritance when we receive the word of God, the promise. That promise is part of Christ. because he is the Word manifested in the flesh. Jesus, as the Son of God, inherited the name of his Father. When we are baptized in Jesus name, we also become heirs of his, and we inherit his name, much like when a child is adopted, he inherits his new father’s name. By being baptized in Jesus name, we are claiming him to be our new father, and in a way we are confessing him.
Another scripture that we covered was Heb. 1:4, referring to Jesus saying he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
Ps 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Since Jesus sits on the right hand, when we have him in our hearts we feel the love and joy that only he can give, and Jesus is the path of life, if you remember the word brings us back to the tree of life, and Jesus is the word.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Ps. 17:7 Shew thy marvelous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.
Once again, Jesus is our saviour, and he sits on the right hand.
Ps. 18:35 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.
11Sam. 22:3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.
Here it refers to God as being his shield. God spoke the word, which is Jesus Christ, and that word is the shield.
Ps. 21:8 Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.
Anyone that does not follow the Word of God, is an enemy, and the truth will always end up on top.
Ps. 44:1 We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old. 2 How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand., and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out. 3 For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.
When our ways please the Lord, he will fight our battles for us, as we trust in him.
Ps. 45:4 And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.
We prosper when we follow truth, meekness and righteousness; and when we follow God the best way we know, he will teach us from his word, which is Jesus.
Ps. 48:10 According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.
If Jesus is sitting on the right hand, that is why the right hand is full of righteousness.
Ps. 80:15 And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself. 16 It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perishat the rebuke of thy countenance. 17 Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man who thou madest strong for thyself.
John 15:1 I Am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
Back to: Ps. 80:15 And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself, 16 It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.
I think this is the ones that God sent his word into, and prospered for himself, and then they turned away from God, and therefore God rebuked them. That is just my opinion, I am not sure.
Ps. 89:13 Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand, 14 Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.
Remember that Jesus, as the word sits in the right hand.
Ps. 138:2 I will worship toward thy Holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
Mercy and truth have to go before God’s face because if mercy and truth do not cleans a person before they meet up with God, they will be consumed in his power.
Ps. 89:25 I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.
Is 48:18 O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! Then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:
Ps. 89:28 My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him. 29 His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
The covenant stands fast because it is the word of God.
In Is. 40:8 It says The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
The seed of David produced Christ, and his seed is the word.
Ps. 98:1 O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvelous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.
The word of God is the power that beats down the enemy.
Ps. 110:1 The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
God told Jesus to sit at his right hand, until we are drawn to the battle by the Lord, and claim back God’s territory that Jesus paid for on the cross.
Ps. 118:14 The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation. 15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly. Verse 17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.
The peace and love we receive from getting to know God is magnificent, and makes us want to rejoice. Especially when we have laid at deaths door, and thought we would never make it. Jesus gives us the strength to carry on, and we know that it was his strength alone that brought us through it. The faith that he gives us to keep hanging on could only come from the one that overcame the devils temptations, and won the victory for us. He is our champion, and we want everyone to know it.
Ecc. 10:2 A wise man’s heart is at his right hand: but a fool’s heart at his left.
Ps. 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
The wise will search for the LORD and his reward, when it is finished, is that at judgment time the LORD will set him on his right hand side.
Is. 9:19 Through the wrath of the LORD of host is the land darknened, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire:
We must realize that God will do whatever it takes to turn us around, so we do not end up in the fires of hell for eternity. No matter what we go through in this life, no matter what it takes, in God’s eyes, it will be better to suffer and be turned back to him at any cost, than to be separated from him for eternity. He loves us, but he can not live with sin. That is why when he does come back, the enemy will be burned up by the brightness of his coming.
11Thes. 2:8 And then shall that wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Is. 48:9 For my names sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off. 10 Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction. 11 For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? And I will not give my glory unto another. 12 Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last. 13 Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.
So you see that God himself is the first, and the last, and his hand laid the foundation of the earth, and his right hand spanned the heavens. When he calls, they stand. But wait a minute, I thought Jesus is the first and the last. That seems very puzzling. We will go on and see if we can find the answer to that in some of the other right hand verses.
Is. 63:8 For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Saviour. 9 In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old. 10 But they rebelled, and vexed his Holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them. 11 Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put his Holy Spirit within him? 12 That led them by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name? 13 That led them through the deep, as an horse in the wilderness, that they should not stumble? 14 As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.
Did you happen to notice that there is an angel of God’s presence which saved them. Does that mean that God has an angel as part of him? These verses talk about many things, like, the way he brought the Israelites through the sea with the shepherd, And how Moses had God’s Holy Spirit within him. He used Moses right hand with his glorious arm, to divide the water, to make himself an everlasting name. He led them through the deep, as an horse, and as a beast, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest:
You see, the first book of the law was given by Moses to the people, just like Jesus gives us the new covenant, his law. So we have somewhat of a type and shadow with Moses and Jesus. When we have Jesus growing in us, at some point we enter into his rest, like Moses did, and if we let him he will lead us like a shepherd with the right hand.
Here, it looks like the Lord’s right hand can not only be what saves us, but it can also become our adversary. He can not only hold back the enemy, but he can also let the enemy have his way against his people.
Ez. 47:1 Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar. 2 Then brought he me out of the way of the gate northward, and led me about the way without unto the utter gate by the way that looketh eastward; and, behold, there ran out waters on the right side.
Jesus Christ sits on the right side of God, if you remember from the previous scriptures.
In Jo. 4:7-14 Jesus said to the Samaritan woman at the well, after he asked for a drink of water from her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
Now, since the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, could this water be the living water that Jesus gives us? Think about it.
Math. 25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
Math. 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
So here we see that the right hand side also has significance when judgment time comes around, and he separates the blessed from the cursed, by putting the blessed on the right side, but the cursed on the left side, but that is not all, the ones on the left side also were sent into everlasting fire. That sounds a lot like what was in Lam. 2:3-4 that we just covered where he drew back his right hand, and burned against Jacob like a flaming fire. I think I want to make sure that I end up on the right side, and not on the left. How about you?
Mark 14:62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
So here we not only see Jesus sitting on the right hand of power, but we also see that he will come in the clouds of heaven.
Mark 16:19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
In this verse we see that he was received up into heaven.
Acts 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye how see and hear. 34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: But he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, sit thou on my right hand, 35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool. 36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
So you see here that Jesus was exalted by the right hand, and that he received the promise of the Holy Ghost, and he shed forth what was seen and heard on Pentecost, which was the tongues of fire, and the gifts of prophecy, ect. Jesus shed forth his body for us, which is his word. And when we consume the word of God, we become bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh, through the word. We become the bride of Christ, much like Eve when she was created from Adam’s rib, became bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh, as it says in Gen. 2:23. But in order to become part of Jesus’ bone and flesh, we must let the word of God wash us clean as it says in Eph. 5:25-30. When Jesus was being crucified, part of that process was to pierce his side and let water and blood be shed. In a way we are also formed as his bride from the blood and water from his side, much like Eve came from Adam’s side.
Acts 5:30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. 31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. 32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
So here Jesus was raised up by God, and he exalted him with his right hand to be a Prince and a saviour, so repentance and forgiveness of sins could be given to Israel, They then became witnesses of those things.
Rom 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Here we something else that happens at the right hand position, Jesus makes intercession for us.
Eph. 1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: 22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.
Here, according to the working of God’s mighty power he raised Christ from the dead. Here you see Jesus is put above all principality, power, might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come. He also put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, which is his body.
Remembering that Jesus is the word of God, we go to Ps. 138:2. I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
The word of God here is above all the names of God.
Hebr.
Here we find that Jesus is an high priest who sits on the right hand of the throne, and that he is a minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched.
We find here that every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices. Jesus offered his own blood for our sins.
Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
There is a reason that Jesus is called the author and finisher of our faith, as you will see here.
Rev. 5:1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
Is. 8:16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my deciples.
Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
Dan. 12:8 And I heard but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things? 9 And he said, go thy way Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
John 6:27 Labor not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
Now do you see why Jesus is in the right hand of the Father? Jesus is the word of God. We are written in that word if we have that word in us. The word has the power to kill, create, heal, destroy, refine us, save us, lead us, it can bless us, but it can also curse us if we disobey it. Without sin we can live within it’s flames, with sin, it will consume us.
In Gen. 1:2 the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Jesus is the living waters, the word of God. In the word of God are the keys to hell and death. It shows us the way back to God.
It is the book of life.
