This was a four part series, that I have put together into one lesson, is why it is so long.
I want to cover a subject that has stirred up quite a bit of controversy over the years. In Revelation, Chapter 6, there are four horses described, along with their riders. I have heard many differing opinions on what God is describing in this chapter. Man's opinion, however, is not worth a whole lot, if it does not line up with what the word teaches. Only God can show you beyond a shadow of a doubt, what it actually means.
To do this, I start out by looking at the scriptures, and picking out the words that will give me the best clues, and look them up. Again, I do this by looking up each of these words all the way through the bible, from Genesis, through Revelation. Then, as I put together each scripture that contains that particular word, side by side, I start to see the picture God wants me to see. Now let's go to the scripture, keeping in mind, that there are clues in every scripture to give you the information you will need to solve them.
Revelation 6:1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. 2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow, and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer. 3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. 4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword. 5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. 6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny; And three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine. 7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. 8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
Of course, the first study you must do to solve these scriptures, is the word horse, which is in the bible aprox. 193 times. This is where you find out whether you truly love God with all your heart, and whether you really want to find the truth. Remember, if you do not, you will burn.
Math. 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
That is right, few there be that find it. You cannot find him if you do not look. So lets start looking.
11Kings 2:11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and Horses of fire, and parted them both asunder, and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. 12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more; and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.
In this scripture, there are horses and chariots of fire.
11Kings 6:14 Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about. 15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! How shall we do? 16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. 17 And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
Again, you see there are horses of fire, that are the LORD's.
Isaiah 31:1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD! 2 Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words; but will arise against the house of evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity. 3 Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together. 4 For thus hath the LORD spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, When a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof. 5 As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it.
Men have horses of flesh, while God's are spirit, just like it says in verse 3 Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. If we trust in the strength of man, and the evils of Egypt, we shall fall, just like they did. We also see his hand is involved as well as his word, which sits in that hand, as the book of life, Jesus Christ, because he said he would not call back his words.
It also talks about a multitude of shepherds, called forth against God. Our pastors are supposed to be shepherds, so it looks like they are going against God with their own voices, instead of relying on God's voice, his word, and therefore God with fight against them.
The main thing I want you to see here is that we are talking about his spirit, and his word. The horses are his spirit, and the word is in his hand that he will stretch out against them. This picture will clear up as we go along in this study,
Is 63:8 For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Saviour. 9 In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old. 10 But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them. 11 Then he remembered the days of old, Moses, and his people, saying, Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit within him? 12 That led them by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm, dividing the water from before them, to make himself an everlasting name? 13 That led them through the deep, as an horse in the wilderness, that they should not stumble? 14 As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.
Notice, he led them through the deep, as an horse in the wilderness, and as a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest. So the spirit is not only referred to as a horse, but also as a beast.
Habakuk 3:8 Was the LORD displeased against the rivers? Was thine anger against the rivers? Was thy wrath against the sea, that thou didst ride upon thine horses and thy chariots of salvation? 9 Thy bow was made quite naked, according to the oaths of the tribes, even thy word. Selah
From these scriptures, we get another clue, which is that God definitely rides on horses, and he also has a bow, just like the first horse in Rev. 6:2, but that is not all. We even see from this scripture, that the bow is actually God's word, and what happened on the cross? Jesus was made naked for the whole world to see, and he is the Word of God. So it all fits together. Are you starting to see the picture?
Now we will go back to Rev. 6:2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow, and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
Here, you see a white horse with a bow, and we already know that the bow can be the Word of God from the previous scripture, and we know that God can ride on a horse of fire, because of the other scriptures we covered.
Hebr. 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
Now we see Jesus was crowned by God, and before he was put on the cross, he was given a crown of thorns, so that explains the crown. But what about the going forth to conquer?
Rom. 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Jesus Christ makes us conquerors through himself, because he is the conqueror. So that takes care of that part of the scripture.
Rev. 19:1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Aleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: 2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.
So, God himself is the judge. That we will get back to, a little bit later in this study.
Verse 7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. 9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, these are the true sayings of God. 10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. 11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns: and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a Rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierseness and wrath of Almighty God.
In verse 12 we see he has many crowns. In verse 15 we see out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that he smites the nations with. Just in these scriptures alone, we get so many of the clues we need to solve the four horsemen scriptures. We have a white horse with the word of God riding on it. We have the proof that the word of God judges, and makes war, because that is what it says. We also see that a sword comes forth from the one on the horse that smites the nations. If Jesus Christ is on the white horse in this scripture, don't you suppose it would be safe to say that he is probably the one on the white horse in the Rev. 6:2 scripture, after looking at the other evidence? Remembering that God does ride horses of fire, the bow represents the word of God, and Jesus was given a crown. But that is not all. White represents purity. Jesus Christ is the only pure one.
I have heard, at times, that some people think that the one on the first white horse in the Rev. 6:2 scripture, is the antichrist. I do not understand where they get that from. It does not make any sense to me. If you do a study of the word white you start to see something. Watch, as we go to some of those scriptures.
Ex. 16:31 And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white: and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.
Even the bread from heaven, the manna, was white.
Lev. 13:13 Then the priest shall consider: and, behold, if the leprosy have covered all his flesh, he shall pronounce him clean that hath the plague: it is all turned white: he is clean.
Even leprosy after it has turned all white, is considered to be clean.
Is. 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
Dan. 7:9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
Dan. 11:35 And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.
Dan. 12:10 Many shall be purified and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
Mark 9:2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them. 3 And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.
Rev. 3:4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. 5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
In all the scriptures that contain the word white, not one have I found, to even remotely, be talking about the antichrist. Jesus Christ is the only one that could possible be on that white horse, because he is the one with the bow, he is the conqueror, and he has the crown of glory, as well as the crown of thorns given to him for our sins. The horse is the spirit of God, just like the fiery horses and chariots in 2Kings 2:11.
Rev. 6:3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. 4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.
The clues in this scripture are, the horse was red, the one on him had power to take peace from the earth, and causes them to kill each other, and he had a great sword that was given to him.
The word studies we need to do are again horse, great sword, war, power, as well as peace, and any others that come up along the way. The word peace is in the bible over 250 times, but if you really want to know what God is describing here, you have to look, just like before. How bad do you want salvation?
Now we see that the first horse is Jesus Christ, the word of God. Let us look at history. What happened when Jesus Christ was born? The powers to be felt threatened by him, even as a little boy, so much so that Harod tried to have him killed.
Math. 2:13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
The results of the word study of the words great sword are as follows.
Is. 27:1 In that day the LORD with his sore and Great and strong Sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.
As I did the search for great sword, I found it only once and Is. 27:1 is it. Sword is found many places, but the word great describing it, is there only once, other than the Rev. 6 scriptures. But, if you remember, in Rev. 19:15 the one on the white horse had a sword that came out of his mouth. That sword is the word of God. The horse is red because, I believe, it symbolizes the blood shed through war.
Is. 34:6 The Sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.
Jer. 4:10 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! Surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the soul.
Jer. 44:12 And I will take the remnant of Judah, that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, and they shall all be consumed, and fall in the land of Egypt; they shall even be consumed by the sword and by famine: they shall die, from the least even unto the greatest, by the sword and by famine: and they shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach.
Again, here, it is the sword of the Lord, because they wanted Egypt instead of God. This scripture will come up again later.
Jer. 12:12 The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the LORD shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall have peace.
Sounds like war to me.
Jer. 14:13 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, the prophets say unto them, Ye shall not see the sword, neither shall ye have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place.
That same deception is still here today, in our churches.
But what did Jesus tell them in Math. 10:34? Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a Sword. 35 For I am come to SET A MAN AT VARIANCE AGAINST HIS FATHER, AND THE DAUGHTER AGAINST HER MOTHER, AND THE DAUGHTER IN LAW AGAINST HER MOTHER IN LAW. 36 AND A MAN’S FOES SHALL BE THEY OF HIS OWN HOUSEHOLD. 37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
Luke 12:51 Suppose ye that I am come to give Peace on Earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division. 52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. 53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
That is what the word of God says. When we put anything ahead of the Lord, we have put him behind it. There have been more wars fought over the word of God, than there have been over anything else in the world. That is what the word of God does. It divides the sheep from the wolves, and the wolves don’t like it. The anti-Christ also makes war with God, but he does not have what the word of God calls, a great sword. So that leaves only one to be riding on this red horse, and that is Jesus Christ, as the word of God.
Remember Rev. 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in Righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many Crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed with a vesture Dipped in blood: and his name is called the Word of God.
Can there be any more doubt here, as to who is also On the red horse? Just as it said, the word of God judges and makes war.
Rev. 6:5 And When he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black Horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
First, I want to point out that the balances are in his hand. And what are balances used for? They can be used to measure out amounts of produce to sell. Gold is known for being weighed in a balance in the gold rush times. Balances are also a symbol of lawyers or judges. You see these symbols in our courtrooms, frequently, and in our government buildings. Those things are from man’s perspective. What we need to do is go to the word of God to see what he means by the words pair of balances. In order to do this, you must look up the word balance through the entire bible, to get God’s perspective, remembering that he is a spirit, and we are flesh. He wants us to see from the spiritual perspective.
Ps. 62:9 Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.
Pr. 16:11 A just weight and balance are the Lord’s: all the weights of the bag are his work.
Isa. 40:12 Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? 13 Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counselor hath taught him? 14 With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding? 15 Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.
In Dan. 5 a hand came and wrote on the wall of the king’s palace, after the king had taken the gold and silver vessels from the house of God and drank wine in them while praising the gods of gold and silver. Daniel gave the king the interpretation in:
Verse 26 This is the interpretation of the thing: Mene; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. 27 Tekel; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. 28 Peres; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians. God will weigh our ways in his balances to see if we measure up.
But what are we supposed to measure up to?
1Sa. 2:3 Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.
Job 28:23 God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof. 24 For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven; 25 To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure.
Job 31:5 If I have walked with vanity or if my foot hath hasted to deceit; 6 Let me be weighed in an even balance, that God may know mine integrity.
Prov. 16:2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.
Is. 26:7 The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just. 8 Yea, in the way of thy Judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.
Prov. 27:3 A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool’s wrath is heavier than them both.
Hebr. 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
So sin is a weight, because sin keeps us from the heights of heaven, and holds us down, away from God. But in all balances that I know of, you must have a weight on one side that is used to measure the weight of the other side.
Eph. 4:7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Verse 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.
Do you measure up? I know I do not, yet. And what is Christ, but the word of God. If we do not line up with the measure in the word, we are in trouble.
Not obeying the word of God in the garden of Eden, is what got mankind thrown out of the garden to begin with. So it figures, that the only way back to God, is to go through that same word, which he provided for us, in the flesh of his son, Jesus Christ, in order to show us the way back home.
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Acts 3:20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: 21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of his holy prophets since the world began. 22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. 23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.
If we choose not to listen to the word given to us again, this time, we will be destroyed.
Acts 5:32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
Obey, and you receive the promise of the Holy Ghost, disobey, and you are destroyed.
Rev. 6:6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, a measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
To solve this scripture we first look up the word measure, knowing Gods interpretation, and ours can be quite different. To find out what God means by a word, I look it up through the bible, to see how he uses the word in the scriptures, to get his interpretation. We tend look at things from the standpoint of the flesh, but God is a spirit, so he looks at things differently than we do, just like it says in:
Is. 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my, ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
So, now we will go to some examples of how the word measure is used in the scriptures.
Luke 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Rev. 11:1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
Did you catch that part of the scripture? We also get measured, as we worship God in the temple.
John 3:34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.
This scripture is of course speaking about Jesus Christ, and he was not given the Spirit by measure, so the Spirit is given by measure to us.
Ephes.2:6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
It was Jesus Christ’s body that was poured down that day, because he is the true promise land. But that is not all, his body also has The promise on it, which is the Holy Ghost, the spirit of God. When we consume his word, which is his flesh, We also have consumed the promise of the Father, because the promise was given to Jesus before his body, his Word, was shed for us on Pentecost. The power is all in his word. When we consume his word, Jesus Christ, we Have consumed our inheritance, and we become bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh, when we obey it. Eve became bone Of Adam’s bone and flesh of his flesh when she was created from his side. We become bone of Jesus bone and Flesh of his flesh when we consume his flesh, his word. It comes in through our eyes, and enters our hearts, and Remains there, if we obey it.
That is how we become one with him, because he is in us, and the marriage is consummated in our hearts. If we continue in his word, we eventually will multiply that word, as we tell others about him, thereby having children with him. That is how we receive our Inheritance. He is our inheritance, and that is why in Ephes. 3:6, it says we become partakers of his promise in Christ by the Gospel. All you have to do for the promise is to repent of your sins, consume the word, and obey, it really isn’t that complicated.
We start out with the earnest of our inheritance, when we first come to Jesus Christ, but that is only the start. It is up to each of us to get the measure of the gift, that we want. But none of this is possible without faith in the operation of God. How can you have faith without the understanding of how it all works.
Verse 17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
You see here, it says that you might be filled with all the fulness of God, not that you will be. You have just as much of an inheritance as you want, as much of him as you want, if you believe it.
Ephes. 4:5 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Remember here, there is a measure of the gift.
Ephes 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
You see here, there is a measure of every part. When each part is functioning the way it is supposed to the result is what you see in:
Ephes. 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: Our measurement is what we have of him.
Math. 20:1 For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard. 2 And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. 3 And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, 4 And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way. 5 Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise. 6 And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? 7 They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive. 8 So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first. 9 And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny. 10 But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny. 11 And when they had received it, they murmured against the Goodman of the house. 12 Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day. 13 But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny? 14 Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee. 15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good? 16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.
The first feast for the Lord, as far as I can tell was the feast of the first Passover. They were told to in Exodus chapter 12 to take one lamb per household, according to each man’s eating, without blemish, and kill it in the evening, and take of the blood, and strike it on the two sideposts and on the upper doorpost of the houses. They were to eat the flesh with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.
This all was to get them ready for when the LORD would pass over their homes and kill all the firstborn of the Egyptians. They needed the lambs blood for protection, but they also had to eat it’s flesh. As it says in the previous scripture of Ex 23:14, they could not appear before God empty. That is critical for our understanding. The lamb’s flesh represents the flesh of Jesus Christ, which is his word, as we have learned previously, while the unleavened bread also represents the pure word of God.
1Cor. 5:8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life.
John 6:5 When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat? 6 And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do. 7 Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.
Notice here, that the word penny is being used as an amount obviously used in buying bread. Very interesting, don’t you think?
verse 9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? 10 And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. 11 And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. 12 When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. 13 Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.
He has a way of multiplying his bread of life also. Now we will jump ahead to:
Verse 26 of the same chapter. Jesus answered them and said, Verily, Verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. 27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for the meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
I want you to notice in this scripture, the word seal. The book in revelation has seven seals, and Jesus says here that God has sealed him, and he is the word. Do you see the pattern?
Verse 28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. 30 They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? What dost thou work? 31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, HE GAVE THEM BREAD FROM HEAVEN TO EAT. 32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. 34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. 35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
So far we have barley that was made into bread, and that bread was used as an example for the bread of life..
Verse 53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. 54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. Verse 63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
When the spirit was poured out on Pentecost, it was the body and blood of Jesus Christ, spiritually speaking. Wheat and barley have always been used as offerings to God from the very beginning, because they are what is used to make bread.
Lev. 23:4 These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons. 5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD’s Passover. 6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread. Verse 10 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest: 11 And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it. 12 And ye shall offer that day when ye wave the sheaf an he lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering unto the LORD. 13 And the meat offering thereof shall be two tenth deals of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering by fire unto the LORD for a sweet savour: and the drink offering thereof shall be of wine, the fourth part of an hin.
Notice in this scripture, the offerings are an he lamb without blemish, a meat offering of flour mingled with oil, and wine. It doesn’t say if the flour is of barley or wheat, but you do have the oil and the wine as well being offered.
Verse 14 And ye shall eat neither bread, nor parched corn, nor green ears, until the selfsame day that ye have brought an offering unto your God: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
Pay close attention to this next verse.
15 And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Sabbaths shall be complete: 16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh Sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering.
That new meat offering happened on Pentecost.
James 1:18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. I think the barley and the wheat in Rev. 6 refer to the word of God that is measured in each of us, and also the Increase we produce in the earth, and then are offered by Jesus Christ back to God.
Rev. 22:12 And, behold, I Come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
The measurement stays the same, the amount of the increase is up to us all. I believe, the reason It says hurt not the oil and the wine, is it is indicating that at some point if we have enough of him in us, we will be protected from the death angel in the final Passover.
As I took another look at those scriptures, I noticed that I did not get into the first scripture much at all, so now, I want to get into it just a little bit first, before we go on to the pale horse, in verse 8.
Rev. 6:1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, come and see.
The first part I want to cover is the Lamb, in case someone listening does not know who the Lamb is.
John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. Verse 33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. 34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.
The Lamb of God is, Jesus Christ, his Son. But you also see that he is the one that takes away the sin of the world.
1Peter 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you. 21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. 22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: 23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
So the word of God, the lamb of God, liveth and abideth for ever, and obeying it is how our souls are purified. So we have seen who the Lamb is, and now I want to cover the noise of thunder. For that we go to:
John12:28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again. 29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.
So here, God’s voice was like thunder.
Job 40:9 Hast thou an arm like God? Or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
The reason thunder is heard when the seals are opened, is because the seals are on the word of God, so when the seals open, God’s voice speaks. When I looked up the word thunder, in the bible, it always referred, in some way, to the voice of God, or his word, or some manifestation of the thunderings in the clouds. Now let us get back into the four horsemen scriptures, where we left off last time.
Rev.6:7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see. 8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
I want to point something out here. That is that it says, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. How do you kill someone with death? When you look at these scriptures from the viewpoint of our flesh, we see things somewhat, as follows. If I kill someone with a sword, then I have injured their flesh to the point of death with that instrument of death. If I kill someone with hunger, then I have kept them from receiving food, and thereby they die, eventually. If I kill someone with the beasts of the earth, then I have, probably managed to get them in contact with ravenous animals, right?
But to kill someone with death is, a little bit more complicated to figure out. Somehow I would have to hand them death itself, and they would have to receive it, wouldn’t they? But how do all these things fit together logically? If you are looking at them from your flesh, they do not fit, but if you look at them from the Spirit of God’s viewpoint, they fit together perfectly.
Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Right in this scripture alone, we get a huge clue. How can we be carnally minded though?
1Cor. 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
If you think like God, who is a Spirit, you will live, and have peace, or think like the world, or serpent spirit, and die. Next verse is:
1Cor. 3:1 AND I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. 2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. 3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
So if I can get you to think, and walk carnally, I will be killing you with death, and that scripture will be fulfilled.
11Cor. 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 ( For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
The war is in our minds, and it’s thoughts are the battlefield. It is flesh against spirit, where we are flesh and God is a spirit. If what we believe and do does not line up with what God’s word says we are to believe and do, we have replaced God in our minds with our own imaginations.
11Cor. 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. 3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtility, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
It all comes down to what you are going to believe. But how do you know what to believe, if you do not line everything up with what the word of God, the knowledge of God, teaches? You don’t. So you better know the word, or you could receive death, instead of life. And instead of having the mind of Christ, you have another, and instead of being influenced by the Spirit of God, you are influenced by the spirit of the serpent, just like Eve was. It also talks of another Jesus, and another Gospel. The Gospel is the Word of God. So if you are going to have another Gospel, it will be an imposter of the true Word of God.
Gen. 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest it die. 4 And the serpent said, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
Let us look at the ways she was tempted. It would open her eyes, it was desired to make her wise, knowing what was good and what was evil, she would be as a god, and she would not die. What does God’s word, his Gospel, promise us?
Ephes. 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. Verse 17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,.
Everything the serpent tempted her with, was what God was going to give them for obedience to his word. Knowledge, wisdom, inheritance as sons of God, life, and an enlightening of their eyes. Remember, there was also a tree of life in that garden of Eden, that they could have eaten from. One gives life, and the other gives death.
Man’s imagination, through the influence of the serpent, caused them to make graven images. Just like the first part of imagination starts the word image, the first part of graven is grave, which is the result of this act. You see, God knows just what words to use in the bible, so they all fit together amazingly, to form the picture we need to see. I also want you to see that whatever we do, we do from our heart, weather we serve God, or man. That is why we have to have our hearts circumcised, because they are evil. Circumcision removes the hard outer layer of our hearts, so the seed of the word can get in and reproduce.
1Cor. 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
Verse 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O DEATH, WHERE IS THY STING? O GRAVE, WHERE IS THY VICTORY? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye knowhat your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
I want you to see that it is possible for us to be completely consumed with the word of God, to the point that mortality is swallowed up of immortality. Remember, also how the devil wants to do everything he can to prevent this from happening.
James 5:2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth eaten.
How can a garment be moth eaten, spiritually, and riches corrupted?
Is. 51:7 Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings. 8 For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool: but my righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation from generation to generation.
If you trust in flesh instead of God, you will be eaten up like a moth does a wool garment, because we are his sheep, and moths love wool. If you are covering yourself with something that is full of holes like a moth would eat in wool clothing, then your nakedness, or your sin will show through the holes.
Is. 25:6 And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. 7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. 8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the LORD God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
The vail talked about here, is the vail of the enemy, whom has claimed the world as his bride. That vail also was rent at the death of Jesus Christ. The shadow of the enemy that we have allowed to cover us, will be taken away for ever. The refined wine is the pure word of God, the blood of Lamb, in its strength, as our covenant from death, purifies us, and washes us, and covers us completely, so no sin can show through. But there is another covenant as well.
Is. 28:5 In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people, 6 And for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate. 7 But they also have errer through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment. 8 For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean.
We are supposed to eat at the Lord’s table, drinking his wine, his blood, but here you see there is a wine that causes man to err, including the prophets, and priests, and has gotten them out of the way. Jesus is the way, the truth ,and the life, so they have got out of his ways into someone else’s.
Verse 15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we his ourselves: Verse 17Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refugeof lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. 18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
The only covenant we need to concern ourselves with is the covenant written in the word of God that the devil has tried to change from the beginning. So, if we have made a covenant with death, instead, we have again, been listening to the wrong voice. And the result of that is eternity in hell.
If the word you are using cannot prove itself out like this one has done here, then you have a covenant with death, and hell will be the result. The new bibles cannot even come close to the perfect ness of this word of God. If he can create a DNA structure in our bodies, he certainly can keep his word perfected for those who truly seek him. The other covenants cannot compare.
Death kills with sword, by changing the sword of the LORD of Glory, which is the word of God, to something that cannot possibly cover your sin, thereby allowing your sins to show through the moth holes, which are the scriptures, that have been removed from the true word.
Weather that word is spoken, written, or just church doctrine that does not line up with the measure of the stature of the fullness of Jesus Christ, it is still death, and the result is hell. They have changed the word, removing the critical keys, God put in it to make it solvable. But his word will pass the test of time.
Gen. 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made.
There is one of the beasts that consumed man. And he has many helpers out there. Many voices talking to you that do not line up, but how will you know if you do not know the true shepherd? You won’t. The famine is the famine for the word of God, as it says in Amos 8:11 That famine kills us with death itself, by replacing the true word with another gospel, another Jesus. The sting of sin is death. Anything that does not line up with the true word of God, is sin.
Rom. 6:23 For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Rev. 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Make sure you have the only one with the keys.
2Tim. 1:10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
Jam. 5:20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins. That takes care of the last of the four horsemen of Rev. chapter 6.
